Hi friends! Welcome to the Hawks Nest blog. I hope this space showcases gorgeous weddings, provides helpful information, and encourages my current, future, and past brides. This wedding will always be a special one — our very first wedding at Hawks Nest. And thanks to Cassie & John and the amazing team of vendors they selected, this day was perfection.

I’ll never forget meeting the Campbell’s for the first time and them actually saying, “yeah, we’ll have a wedding here!” The barn still had so far to go. They saw it a year before the wedding with no bathrooms, no bridal suite, and absolutely no resemblance of a wedding venue. They caught my dream and believed that we would finish on schedule and make it as pretty as I described that day, and I’m SO thankful.

When I arrived at that meeting with them, I was thinking about stopping tours until we were totally done with construction. I was tired of explaining what it would look like, excusing the mess, and getting ghosted when I followed up with the bride & groom. I didn’t blame anyone for not wanting to do their wedding when it looked like THAT, but my heart needed someone to catch my vision & believe in us, and God sent the Campbells.

Cassie wanted a mix between classy & rustic for her wedding. She chose blush tones for her flowers and nude bridesmaids dresses. With the guys wearing navy, it was a perfect combo for an end of summer wedding. Plus, the weather ended up being perfect. Not too hot, but still not cold.

They served southern fried chicken for dinner, cooked fresh on-site with a full kitchen set up under a tent beside the reception tent. Donna Potter & her staff were amazing to work with.

I wrote this in a social media post to Cassie & John earlier this week as they celebrated their first wedding anniversary. “Thanks for being the very first Hawks Nest Couple. You all booked a venue that wasn’t even close to finished yet & I couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks for catching my vision and making the first wedding at Hawks Nest far better than I could’ve imagined.”
